The Town of Danville presents ARTful Women: 7 Voices in Fabric Art during its upcoming exhibition which begins March 7 and runs through April 26. The exhibit, held at the Village Theatre Art Gallery, features seven foothill artists whose primary medium is fabric along with other materials.
The pieces created by ARTful Women are unique — minimally or multi layered, stitched, painted, dyed, stamped, or embellished in a myriad of ways. In color, they are subtle or bright; subjects are literal or abstract, each an expression of the diverse styles and individual methods.
Their hope is to increase awareness about fabric as a legitimate and fine art medium. As a group, they push themselves and each other to expand their creative limits.
ARTful Artists: Pam Berry, Joan Dyer, Jo Hathcock, Sandra Poteet, Ann Sanderson, Lin Schiffner and Gail Sims
