About Tastings on the Lawn, Cesare and Rosa Mondavi originated the Tastings on the Lawn in 1951 as a means to educate consumers about wine. 64 years later, Peter Mondavi, Sr., the family patriarch, continues the tradition on the Great Lawn of the Charles Krug estate.
