Growing up on an almond farm in the San Joaquin Valley, Salenfriend obtained most of her artistic training from her great-grandfather Stewart Robertson, a registered California painter. Her agrarian upbringing, along with a move to Napa Valley, greatly influences the way she envisions and paints.
